Teachers & Families give their opinion about the Comenius project

In my opinion Comenius has been a big success in our high school. This feeling is based in two main reasons:

In first place I think that Comenius has been an enormous opportunity for our pupils. In Santa Coloma de Gramenet, too much often English is merely a subject for teenagers. There are not too many possibilities of using English as a real language. For this reason Comenius has become a challenge and a test for all the pupils involved in the project. When I have talked to the most of our pupils who participated in Comenius, all of them have expressed their satisfaction and, the most important, they recognized that their English (and specially the real use of English) has improved a lot. In addition they mentioned that, in a certain way, now they felt themselves more European, because they felt other European teenagers as friends.

In second place, I believe that Comenius has also been a very interesting activity for our partners; not only by the language issue, but also the activities that they could develop when they were in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. When you looked at the program of activities that Olga de la Morena, had prepared for them you could check that they have done some interesting activities in INS Can Peixauet, but also that they have known some wonderful and interesting places in Catalonia, and that they have done a lot of interesting and different pastimes.

Summarizing, Commenius has been a great opportunity for our pupils and I am sure that this has been reciprocal for our partners.

This is the first time I've taken part in a Comenius. My colleague, Olga de la Morena, responsible for the project told me at the beginning of the course if I was interested in collaborating in that project.

I told her I would help her as much as I could. Fortunately, she did it perfectly and the results have been excellent. I've never seen our students so excited and best of all, speaking English all the time with their German and Norwegian partners.

Not only have students enjoyed and learnt a lot from this experience but teachers also did. I've met teachers from other countries and we've talked about our high schools, methodology used and the results.

I'm very glad to have participated and I'm looking forward to enjoying another project again.

Comenius project for us has been a great success and we have seen that our daughter enjoyed the two spectacular weeks in the other countries and she was able to practise her English .

The week that they were in Barcelona, in our home , for us it was very nice to know other cultures and live together and have a good time.

This was an unforgettable experience for us and we would live it again.

I found the exchange project very positive because gives the opportunity to live in a family different from the habitual. Is the best way to know another mores, foods…

This exchange project open the doors to this teenagers to keep in touch with people from other countries. With another way will be more difficult.

On the experience as host family I have to say that it was very rewarding. One of the problems that could appear is the language, but this problem disappear when you ascertain that this person adapts, don’t put any problem and collaborates. When the week ends I wanted to he stay a while longer.

On the experience of my son I want to say that he arrive delighted. I only thank to the host family for host him like one more of Lars family.
